Development of National Competencies for Child Primary Mental Health Worker:

The project has collaborated with the National Lead for Child Primary Mental Health Work on developing a set of capabilities for this role.  To look at these click here

Linking the Various Forms:

Across Kent and Medway there are various forms pf the Primary Mental Health Worker.  In some areas the worker is linked to a Specialist Tier 3 CAMHS team, in other areas they are linked to community based projects such as Sure Start or the WAVE Project, in others they are linked to a specific population such as the Mental Health workers for Looked After Children.  One of the aims of the project is to get some dialogue within and between these various forms so that we can develop a coherent picture of their service and thus training needs across Kent and Medway.

Education and Training for the CPMHW:

The project is in the process of working with the Higher Education Partnership set up in Kent and Medway (to read more click here) to look at providing post-qualifying training for these Primary Mental Health Workers.
